New Semester
There's nothing like the beginning of a Kindermusik semester, ordering new CD's instruments, making sure all the sticks, bells, shakers, hoola hoops and scarves are in working order, and eagerly awaiting the arrival of babies, toddlers, preschoolers and 6 and 7-year olds as they show up at my door with their parent, excited to dance, sing, listen, make music, imagine and create. I have yet to meet a child that doesn't respond and benefit from music. There's a lot of hard research now that bears out the significant benefits of music and movement for people of all ages (and the parents singing and dancing in my class certainly show as much joy as the children!) but parents have always intuitively known that it's good, and fun, to bounce a baby on your lap, to fly a child through the air, to ring-around-the-rosey and all fall down. I'm blessed the Kindermusik gives me a venue to make sure this happens for families, and gives them lots of ways to play at home throughout the week, and throughout their lives!
