It has not escaped me that you have made quite an investment to involve your child in Kindermusik – an investment of money, time and energy, and I am so happy for your child that you have!
Below are some excerpts from The Out-of-Sync Child by Carol Stock Kranowitz about the importance of movement
The more opportunities baby has to move her body in different ways, the easier it will be to learn new motor skills.
The more opportunities a child has with movement, the better her brain can interpret and integrate sensation from her eyes and body. Later on, these visual-spatial skills will show when she
Can match shapes, letters, and numbers
Can pick out objects in the fore-and background
Has developed spatial awareness and an awareness of form constancy, directionality and position in space
The auditory [music and language] and vestibular [sense of balance] systems work together, and are both processed through the ear. The more opportunities a child has to process information through movement, the better he is able to differentiate sounds and discriminate sound and language.
This is just one little part of what you are doing in Kindermusik classes and activities. You have made an investment in the life of your child that pays valuable dividends, and I am very blessed and grateful that you allow me to be a part of your child’s learning experience!

Learning through moving
Children learn best when they are emotionally engaged. Peek into a Kindermusik classroom, and you may see: babies "dancing" in the arms of their special adult, experiencing firsthand the thrill of high and low, in and out; toddlers learning self-control through stop-and-start games; children exploring bells, sticks, or shakers, learning to recognize the differences in sound, and being able to control the sound they produce. This is hands-on learning, and nowhere else is learning this much fun!

New Semester
There's nothing like the beginning of a Kindermusik semester, ordering new CD's instruments, making sure all the sticks, bells, shakers, hoola hoops and scarves are in working order, and eagerly awaiting the arrival of babies, toddlers, preschoolers and 6 and 7-year olds as they show up at my door with their parent, excited to dance, sing, listen, make music, imagine and create. I have yet to meet a child that doesn't respond and benefit from music. There's a lot of hard research now that bears out the significant benefits of music and movement for people of all ages (and the parents singing and dancing in my class certainly show as much joy as the children!) but parents have always intuitively known that it's good, and fun, to bounce a baby on your lap, to fly a child through the air, to ring-around-the-rosey and all fall down. I'm blessed the Kindermusik gives me a venue to make sure this happens for families, and gives them lots of ways to play at home throughout the week, and throughout their lives!
